It’s weird that the Oscars are over because now I don’t know what to do with myself between now and when I move back into college… I’m not being melodramatic either. I have absolutely nothing to do.

enternechoplex: While I loved that you awarded Octavia Spencer, Chistopher Plummer and the excellent editing team of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Oscars:

That last Dujardin post was kinda harsh. I’ll admit that I did enjoy his performance but I do think he won, much like the film he’s in, solely because of the novelty of it all, rather than quality or depth.

Is it just me or is Natalie Portman only believable when reading other peoples’ lines if Darren Aronofsky is directing?

conanofallon replied to your post: Hazanavicius. Really? I actually loved The Artist and hope it wins BP, but tbh I seriously agree. I think my perception of The Artist was harmed by seeing it after it won everything everywhere because I didn;t think it lived up to any of the hype. I mean, I enjoyed it but I found it so empty and shallow.

Hazanavicius. Really?
I mean, yeah, he directed more than Woody Allen did but compared to Marty and Malick, The Artist was no marvel of direction.

As much as I love her on SNL, that screenplay shouldn’t have even been nominated. Yeah, Bridesmaids was funny but in no way was it a particularly great script.

Something I think everytime The Artist wins the award for Best Score: If it was so good, then why the fuck did you use the pivotal music from Vertigo in the film’s climax?

You know what would be better?
If Billy Crystal was a muppet. I mean a felt one, not in the Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels sense of the word. He’s already that.

I actually can’t tell the difference between the movie montage ads on StarPics and the actual Oscars content anymore. All I know is that there’s way more Helen Mirren in the Foxtel ads, which make it superior to the Oscars montages.

Cirque du Soleil is not going to save you now,...
Although considering what we’ve seen already from the creative team tonight, I’m predicting the acrobats form a movie screen and then a big love heart next to it and then afterwards Billy Crystal will once more say something generic about how movies have changed us all.
